2014 QB claims four offers

Offers are starting to pile up for Charlotte (N.C.) West Mecklenburg 2014 quarterback Jalan McClendon. The 6-foot-4, 192-pounder claims four scholarships including two from the ACC at this time.
"I have offers from North Carolina, Wake Forest, Charlotte and South Carolina State," he said. "I got those during the summer.

"I was excited about them. I'm just taking it in and living in the moment."
In addition, South Carolina, LSU, Ohio State, Missouri and others are interested.
"I think they are considering offering me, especially LSU and South Carolina. They both are really interested."
So far this season, McClendon has taken trips to South Carolina and North Carolina for games.
"North Carolina was a nice campus," he said. "I like how they run their football program over there. I like the school spirit and the school over all.
"South Carolina was a good visit too. I like their school spirit as well. I liked the facilities and campus."
McClendon plans to take more trips this season to Duke, NC State, Clemson and Ohio State for games before the year is out.
So, does he like anyone?
"My top four would be Ohio State, North Carolina, South Carolina and LSU," he stated. "They all have my major I want to major in, broadcast journalism. They also have good football programs and are good schools. I think they would fit me."
For the year, McClendon has thrown for over 800-yards and eight touchdowns after passing for 2,100-yards last year and 21 touchdowns to just seven interceptions.
"This is my second year, but we are mostly a running team now," he said. "I still think I need to improve. My size, arm strength, accuracy and footwork are good, but I need to work on my footwork more and my progressions. I want to make the right reads and improve my throwing mechanics."
