2014 LB Nate Stone of Greensburg (Pa.) Greensburg Central Catholic has made it a point to maintain a busy schedule this fall and will continue to do so this weekend when he attends a Big Ten game.
"Recruiting is going pretty good actually," said Stone, who is 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds. "I'm getting a lot of love from Pitt, Cincinnati, Penn State, Ohio and Akron. Besides that I'm getting a lot of smaller stuff from Yale, Temple and N.C. State."
Stone has already taken several visits and discussed if any of them stood out.
"Most of them were nice," he said. "Cincinnati's atmosphere really excited me, and Ohio was also pretty exciting when I went down there."
Next up for Stone is a visit to Happy Valley this Saturday to check out Penn State against Ohio State.
"I'm excited," he said. "There are supposed to be a ton of recruits there and that's just a real exciting game to be at. I can't wait."
During all of his visits, Stone is making sure to keep his eyes open for a few specific things.
"I'm definitely looking for somewhere that has a good academic program," he said. "Also somewhere that has a winning program and where I would have a chance of playing early."
Stone has definitely stepped up his game this fall and has taken on a much bigger role for his team.
"I'm strictly a linebacker on defense, but I'm slot receiver and fullback on offense," he said. "Defensively I'm leading the team in pretty much every category, except interceptions, and I'm keeping the middle of the defense strong. Offensively I have over 250 yards receiving, as well as seven total touchdowns."
