2013 receiver visiting UNC soon

North Carolina's coaching staff has been in a lot of contact with Garden State prospects from the Class of 2012 and they're taking a hard look at one of the top rising juniors from talent-rich St. Peter's in Jersey City.
Charles Callinan is a big target at 6-foot-4 and 200-pounds. He's also got good hands and has a lot of upside. Rutgers has verbally offered the in-state prospect and Callinan is familiar with what the Scarlet Knights have to offer.

"School-wise I've just been to Rutgers because I've been busy with football at St. Peter's," Callinan said. "I didn't go to any college camps this year so I've been able to focus on the season."
Before the season starts, however, he will make a trip south to one of the schools that has been showing a lot of interest.
"I'm going to North Carolina sometime between August 1 and August 10," he noted. "That's one I'll be checking out. I'll probably go to Rutgers once or twice more before the season starts, too.
"UNC has been talking a lot with my coach. He's been telling me about all that. They sent me a questionnaire with some camp invites. It's a good football program. I know they've had some controversy but it seems like a good place.
"I haven't really been to the school but I've been to the area a bunch of times. Brandon Napoleon had them as one of his top schools and he said a lot of good things about them."
As for Rutgers?
"I'm feeling good about Rutgers. I've built a strong relationship with Coach (Greg) Schiano and my recruiting coach, Coach Hafley. We've been talking about recruiting and my future. I spent the whole day up there and watched their practice."
When September rolls around recruiting will heat up a lot more for Callinan, of course.
