2013 RB Mizzell talks first offer

RICHMOND - Offer No. 1 came this past week for Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside 2013 tailback Taquan Mizzell. Rivals.com caught up with the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder to find out more on which ACC team pulled the trigger.
"I got my first offer actually last week," he said. "Coach said he heard about it last weekend and they didn't call until Monday, that's when they told me they wanted to offer."

What does Mizzell think of the Cavaliers offer?
"I was excited," he said. "I was just hoping and praying for my first offer and I finally got it.
"Demetrious Nicholson is going there and I like the school anyway. I actually went to their practice down here and I like the way they are running the ball. I was watching the running backs and like how they practice too."
Mizzell noted no visit is planned to head to Charlottesville or elsewhere in the near future, though he added other schools are interested.
"Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Duke and Syracuse are interested," he said. "I really like Virginia, North Carolina and Syracuse.
"I like the way they run the ball. I like how North Carolina carries their running backs. I watch them on TV and they are really doing well and sending a lot of people to the draft."
Mizzell posted over 1,400-yards rushing as a junior while earning second team all-Tidewater this past season and broke down his year.
"I think I did pretty well," he said. "I started kind of slow. I got only seven carries in the first game of the season and then I started improving.
"This season I'm hoping for a better year. I want to go for 1,800-yards."
