2013 DT Commissiong discusses first offer

Earlier this summer Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara 2013 defensive tackle Darius Commissiong landed his first scholarship. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder discussed the offer and his plans for the upcoming season as well.
"I still have that one offer from Syracuse that I got this summer," he said. "I'm still waiting to hear from Tennessee, Maryland and Boston College.

"Tennessee basically said they like my size and everything. They want to see some film. I went to Boston College for a little showcase back in June and Maryland is just waiting to see what happens."
Commissiong plans to visit more schools soon.
"I want to visit Syracuse, I've already been to Maryland and Boston College," he stated. "I'm looking for a school I'd be able to contribute early. I want a good campus and a family feel. I still want to get that sense of home. I also want somewhere I can get a degree if football doesn't work out. I'm looking to study business administration."
The lineman played his freshman year at DeMatha before transferring to Bishop McNamara where he had a strong sophomore campaign.
"I did well for a sophomore," he said. "I look back on things I could have improved on, I could have played with my hands more, but I still did pretty well.
"I feel like right now for my size I'm quicker than what people think. I'm fast off the ball and I have a little bit of finesse to my game. I'm not just big and powerful."
Commissiong and Bishop McNamara open the season on Friday.
"I feel like we're looking really good," he said. "We're still a young team, but we have a lot of talent back and we're working really hard."
