2013 DE Allen up to a half dozen offers

Ashburn (Va.) Stone Bridge 2013 defensive end Jonathan Allen is up to six scholarships. The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder discussed the latest as the Bulldogs head into the playoffs.
"We're 9-1 in the regular season and I'm really confident and felt our team is playing well, it'll be interesting to see how we do," he stated. "I've put on a lot of extra pounds of muscle this season and I keep gaining on my quickness and speed."

Compared to a year ago, Allen's sacks are a bit down from 20 to 12, but he's facing far more double teams.
"I'm getting a lot of double teams and I've even been playing a bit of linebacker now," he said. "I feel I've been really consistent with my performance running to the ball and making plays. I'm doing a pretty good job."
On the recruiting front, Allen has six offers, the latest coming from Maryland and Rutgers recently.
"I just went to Maryland for the Virginia game this past weekend, I liked what I saw, but I didn't get to catch up with the coaches much there."
Allen confirmed a desire to take more visits, but those plans are on hold until after the season.
So, does Allen have a favorite?
"I get that a lot and not really," he said. "I don't have a favorite team, I just am looking for which one is the best fit for me in college."
Allen recently was nominated to the U.S. Army All-American Combine in January.
