2013 ATH has ties to Rutgers

With an ever growing amount of talent, Bear (Del.) Red Lion Christian Academy has definitely become a program worth watching. Athlete Dakiel Shorts is one of a large group of talented Class of 2013 players who is already turning heads. Recently Shorts attended a summer camp and soon will attend two more with a few of his teammates.
"Recruiting is going well," said Shorts, who is 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds. "I just came back from the Temple camp. It went well. Me and my teammates did well. They put us with the rising seniors."

Shorts and his teammates will continue to stay busy in the next week.
"We're going to the Rutgers and UConn camps this week coming up and we will be at the Rutgers 7-on-7 on Saturday," said Shorts. "I'm trying to prove that I can play at the D1 level and compete with everyone else and win."
Overall, Shorts mentioned that a majority of his early interest has come from Rutgers, Temple, UConn, Miami and Penn State.
Rutgers has an interesting connection with Shorts, as he is the cousin of ex-Scarlet Knight and current Jacksonville Jaguar wide receiver Tiquan Underwood.
"My relationship is very good with him," said Shorts. "He's like a brother to me. We talk a lot. He tells me to just take my time and be patient."
While it is early, Shorts already has an idea of what he is looking for in a program.
"A great education, a great coaching staff that cares about their players and somewhere I can fit in," said Shorts.
