2012 WR having big season

Class of 2012 athlete Nate Smith has been on the recruiting radar for a while because of a very early verbal scholarship offer from South Carolina, but he has helped his cause even more with a solid junior campaign.
The 5-foot-11, 176-pound athlete from Philadelphia (Pa.) George Washington has caught 21 passes for 367 yards and seven touchdowns offensively this season, and he has picked off a pass on defense as well.

He and his George Washington teammates are playing for the Public League championship this Saturday, so his focus is entirely on the here and now.
Smith has been avoiding phone calls and actual conversations with college coaches during the season but that will inevitably pick up later. He can't get away from the mail.
"I'm getting a lot of mail. I'm getting too much. I don't even want it anymore," Smith laughed.
He went on to say he has received heavy interest from schools all across the country, including several SEC schools such as LSU, Tennessee, Alabama and Auburn, west coast schools such as Oregon, and others, like Rutgers, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
"I've still got the offer from South Carolina," he explained.
Earlier this fall Smith attended the South Carolina-Alabama game in Columbia and it turned out to be a great weekend for him to make that trip as the Gamecocks upended the No. 1 team in the nation 35-21.
"It was good. I had a great time while I was down there. I don't have favorites but they're up there," he added.
Smith said he is also very interested in schools such as Rutgers, Penn State, Miami, LSU and Oregon. He has also visited Penn State this year.
"I went to their game against Temple," he recalled. "I had a great time. I loved the atmosphere and just how their fans were all around the school."
