2012 OL Reader visits two in-state

Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley offensive guard D.J. Reader made two trips in recent weeks to a couple in-state schools. How did the visits go for the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder?
"I went to Duke this past weekend when they played North Carolina, it was a really good game," he said. "It went back and forth a bit. Duke came out with a scoring drive.

"I thought the team played a lot better. It looked like they are coming together a bit."
On campus, Reader met with Duke's coaching staff.
"It was pretty good," he said. "They just talked to me about how I'd be a big part of the program."
Duke is one of six offers for Reader at this time along with Maryland, Clemson, North Carolina, NC State and Wake Forest.
Meanwhile, Reader made a trip to rival North Carolina a week ago.
"Carolina was pretty good, it was a lot of fun and I got to watch them play NC State," he said. "I talked to Coach Pittman while I was there. He was telling me how I'm pretty big on his list, it was exciting to hear that from them."
The visits are the last for Reader for a while.
"This is probably it until the spring because I have basketball and baseball. I've got to train for those two sports and I probably won't visit anywhere until spring."
Recently the lineman earned all-conference honors.
"I did really well this year," he said. "I improved a lot from last season, I was staying on my blocks better and I polished some things up."
