2012 MD backer holds one offer

Recruiting is already picking up for some of the top 2012 recruits across the country. Offer No. 1 came in back in May for a top linebacker in Maryland.
"I got an offer from Maryland in May," Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha 2012 linebacker Sam Lebbie said. "That's a good school and I'm considering it. I just want to wait and see all my options to see how it all plays out.

"I have been up to Maryland and I like the program and people. I want to see what else is out there though."
Lebbie only claims one offer, but other schools are interested including Boston College, Delaware and West Virginia.
Does Lebbie like anyone in the early going?
"If I had my choice I'd probably go to Penn State or Ohio State," he said. "Those are linebacker schools and I like the tradition, game days, loud crowds and the fact they produce linebackers."
With interest quickly growing, what does the 6-foot-2, 230-pounder want in a school?
"Well, I want good sports and academics and a school that prepares me for after college," he said. "I'm looking to be a lawyer. I want a school to help me with that."
Lebbie didn't start a year ago for DeMatha, but played in all but two games as he fought a shoulder injury.
"Everything is good now and I'm just ready to start and show everybody I can play."
With limited experience a year ago, what sticks out about Lebbie at this point in time?
"I'd probably say it's my athleticism, my balance not just to be a run stopper, but the fact I can cover a bit and have speed to go sideline to sideline."
