2012 FB Pearson sees interest pick up

Raleigh (N.C.) Southeast Raleigh 2012 fullback Dolphus Pearson is seeing his recruitment rise. The 6-foot-0, 220-pounder is getting looks from a number of schools and is taking some unofficial visits.
"I went on an unofficial visit to NC State and it was good," he said. "They have a great atmosphere a great coaching staff. It's a great fan base and everything was really top of the line.

"They told me once they go over my highlight tape they'll probably offer."
According to Pearson, other schools are very interested as well.
"Duke says they are very close and East Carolina seems to be too," he said. "I'm keeping an open mind. I'm trying to get the ball rolling."
On the field, Pearson is playing both ways and has registered 43 tackles and four sacks as he's helped his team to a 4-2 record.
"The season is going good," he said. "We started off a little slow and lost to a team that wasn't very good. Now, we have a chance to run the table.
"I'm playing fullback in goal line situations, but I'm also playing defensive end and linebacker. While I'm getting recruited as a fullback, I can tell I'm a lot faster, quicker and my IQ is better. I'm making my reads much quicker overall and I'm seeing a lot of improvement this year."
