2010 WR Malone having huge year

Memphis (Tenn.) Mitchell junior wide receiver Keiwone Malone has kept a level headed approach throughout the early stages of the recruiting process. That doesn't mean it has been easy.
Malone already holds three offers and it appears as though more will be on the way before long. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound receiver has excellent speed and game breaking ability. He has put those skills to great use throughout the 2008 campaign.

In fact, last week Malone has a record-breaking performance. He caught 13 passes for 358 receiving yards with three touchdowns, leading his team to a 41-35 victory that put them in the semifinals of the state playoffs.
"I felt like it was just a game we needed to win. I had to do anything I could to help my team pull it out," Malone said.
Malone now has 1,300 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns, which puts him at the top of the list of statistical leaders in Tennessee. Last year he caught 70 balls for 1,249 yards and 12 scores, so his final career tallies after next year should be eye-popping.
Malone currently holds offers from Auburn, Duke and Tennessee, and that list will grow soon.
"I think Georgia, Alabama and Stanford are close to offer," he said. "My favorites right now are Miami, Alabama, Georgia and Auburn. I've just always been a Hurricanes fan. I love their history."
Malone had planned on attending games at Auburn and Tennessee this year but wasn't able to work those visits into his schedule.
After the season he plans on visiting Tennessee and Ole Miss, instead. He did admit that the coaching situation in Knoxville has him a bit uneasy about the Vols' future.
"I was sorry to hear it," Malone said. "Coach Fulmer had sent me a personal letter telling me he wants me to come to Tennessee. I hate to see him go."
