2010 WR goes off under Friday night lights

Defensive backs in the Dallas area may need to start working overtime if they've got Dallas (Texas) Skyline on their schedule. 2010 wide receiver prospect Mike Davis served notice last weekend when he went off against a good Arlington (Texas) Bowie team to the tune of seven catches 131 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-29 win.
Davis did a little bit of everything in the game, catching touchdown passes of 15, 15 and 9 yards and showing a lot of versatility in the process.

"I was turning short passes into big gains," Davis said. "I'd get past the defenders when my quarterback threw me the fade I'd come back on it and make a play. What sets me apart is my speed and my hands."
Also a junior, quarterback Javia Hall had a big night throwing the ball to Davis, passing for 225 yards on 17 of 22 attempts, throwing four touchdown passes and running in another. Davis' nine yard touchdown catch proved to be the decisive one.
"They like to use me on the quick screens," said Davis. "I also like hitch routes and bombs because I can just burn them. I'm a deep threat so they like to use me deep. I like the quick screen because I like to take it the distance."
Davis has not yet received his first official offer but he does expect a visit from the mailman very soon.
"OU, they got me and (2010 linebacker prospect) Corey Nelson offers in the mail so they offered us," he said. "My coaches said that they were sending the offer in the mail and I talked to Steve Williams, our corner who is committed to them and he said the coaches told him they were offering.
"I've got some more colleges that have been talking about me like Clemson and Georgia. The Clemson coach wanted me to call him the other day so I tried to call him but I didn't catch him."
Despite his Texas upbringing, Davis' mind is currently on some schools a bit further east.
"Right now I like Clemson, Alabama and Georgia," he said.
