2010 Virginia DE has three favorites

As a rising junior, defensive end Devonte Jackson isn't quite eligible to receive written scholarship offers yet. That said, there's little doubt he will have at least several to choose from at some point down the road.
The 6-foot-3, 264-pound lineman from Gloucester, Virginia is enjoying the early part of the summer and trying to get a feel for the recruiting process.

"I just finished my HU (Hampton) camp this past weekend," Jackson explained. "I'm supposed to be going to a Notre Dame camp but I'm not sure how that's going to work. I think I'll be able to make it but I'm not sure.
"I'd say the school I've heard the most from would be Georgia ... definitely Georgia. I've heard a lot from Clemson, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin too."
While it's still very early, Jackson said three schools are standing out.
"Right now it's definitely Virginia Tech, Clemson and Notre Dame," he said. "That would be my top three.
"I want a program that's successful but at the same time a place that would give me the chance to get some early playing time. I really want to play early so I can start to develop."
