2010 safety recaps camps

Murrysville (Pa.) Franklin Regional safety Chad Bowman may just be a rising junior but he has caught the attention of several schools. He was a starter as a sophomore and is poised for a big junior season, if his camps were any indicator.
The 6-foot, 183-pound defensive back has attended a few camps and his father thinks the trips went well.

"He was invited to a bunch of junior camps," Bob Bowman said. "Of course, he couldn't do them all. He did go to Ohio State, the University of Akron, Boston College and then last week to Vanderbilt. All of those were by invitation.
"He did well at all of them. He's been praised for how he did, at Akron especially. I have high expectations for him and set the bar high. He had some great camps."
Bowman's father said about two-thirds of the schools recruiting his son prefer him as a safety while the rest are looking at him as a running back. Sacred Heart and Akron are two schools that would give him a look on offense.
"He's going to focus on our season right now," his father continued. "But if we can we'll go to some games. I know he's been invited up to Boston. He's been invited to attend some games at Akron, Ohio State and Bowling Green."
Bowman ran a 4.51-second 40-yard dash at Akron and a 4.1-second shuttle. He will be heading back to Akron for another camp this upcoming weekend.
