One of the most impressive players at Friday Night Lights was 2010 signal caller Trey Burton. Burton, 6-2.5 and 190 pounds, is from Venice (Fla.) High School.
"That was awesome," Burton said. "The competition was incredible. I just wanted to go out there and learn and compete and I feel like I got better with every throw. I mean I need to throw a lot to get better and I am improving."
Burton has only started one season at quarterback and that was last year. In 2007 he threw for over 1,300 yards and rushed for over 700 yards. He also accounted for 22 touchdowns. I am a dual threat guy and running is my best attribute."
According to Burton he has verbal scholarship offers from South Florida, West Virginia and Florida Atlantic. Surely there are more on the way.
"I am very anxious for September 1st to get here. Right now I like all the Florida schools, the SEC and ACC."
Note – Burton was interviewed after Friday Night Lights. He camped at Florida State on Saturday.
