2010 Ohio DT likes Illini

Quality defensive tackles can be hard to find so when they come along they attract a lot of attention. Plain City (Ohio) Jonathan Alder junior Josh Davis qualifies as one of the better prospects at that position in the state, so it should come as no surprise that he is already receiving a lot of attention.
At 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds, Davis has an excellent frame with the potential to put on a lot more weight and play on either side of the ball at the college level.

This past weekend he visited a Big Ten school and came away impressed with what he saw.
"The other day I went to the Illinois-Iowa game," Davis recalled. "This is the second time Illinois has given me tickets. I had previously gone to the Illinois-Indiana game. The experience was much the same.
"I loved the facilities, coaches and the environment. The game was great. I would have to say right now Illinois is one of my favorites, along with Ohio State and Indiana."
While Davis has attracted a lot of attention from schools he has yet to receive that first offer. Who has he been hearing from?
"Although I don't have any offers from anyone, Ohio State, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Virginia, Cincinnati and a few others have invited me for unofficial visits.
"I've already attended an Ohio State game, a Wisconsin game and two Illinois games. Next week I'll attend the Indiana game and I also plan on going to Cincinnati."
Davis will have plenty of time to devote to the recruiting process, as his school's season has ended.
"Unfortunately our season ended this last Friday at home against Oakwood. We lost 12-10 in the first round of the playoffs and it was a hard fought game.
"During the offseason I plan on working on my agility to prepare for the Army All-American Combine."
Davis carries a 3.91 GPA.
