2010 Maryland LB has interest

Outside linebacker Nick Forbes may end up being rated as one of Maryland's top prospects in the class of 2010. The 6-foot, 220-pound rising junior from Frederick (Mary.) Thomas Johnson is already receiving attention from several schools.
"I went to Pitt already and today I was at West Virginia," Forbes said on Monday. "Wednesday I'm hoping to go to UVa. I was thinking about going to Wake Forest's camp but I don't think I'm going to go anymore. It's in mid-July when we'll be working out so that would interfere.

"A couple of schools have come by and they've left camp information. Boston College has left camp information and so has Wake Forest and Syracuse."
Forbes is trying to keep everything in perspective, and because it's so early in the recruiting process he isn't ready to name a favorite.
"No, I don't have a favorite," he explained. "I'm just not sure because I have to see which schools offer my major, which will be engineering."
Forbes said most schools will probably recruit him as an outside linebacker, though offense is still a possibility.
"Most likely I'll play outside linebacker. It could be offense though, depending on how it goes this year on offense. I didn't do much on offense last year but I'm going to try to work on my skills more. But right now it looks like defense and I like to hit people."
As a sophomore at Thomas Jefferson, Forbes had 115 carries for 1,052 yards and 10 touchdowns. On defense he recorded 99 solo tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and two interceptions.
