2010 LB favors two SEC powers

Tyrone Cornelius is a 2010 linebacker prospect for Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson High School. Cornelius, 6-1 and 190 pounds, was the team's second leading tackler behind Nigel Mitchell-Thornton this season. He finished the year with 117 tackles, two interceptions (one for touchdown), two forced, one fumble recovery for touchdown, and a blocked punt.
"I improved with experience," Cornelius said. "I took advantage of the playing time and showed my skills. This season I wanted to show everyone what I had.

"I am working on getting bigger and stronger. I would like to be 205 by next season. I need to work reading plays better, getting bigger so I can get those linemen out of the way. I just have to keep working hard."
Although Cornelius doesn't have any scholarship offers at this time teams like Florida, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina, FSU, Rutgers, UCLA, and Alabama are all recruiting him. He went to the following games this season - LSU/Florida, Alabama/Georgia, Auburn/Alabama, and Georgia Tech/Georgia.
"Georgia and Florida are my two favorites. Florida impressed me the most and I love it down there. The fans are so into it and I love the atmosphere. I also love Georgia. Those coaches are good to me and their fans are into as well."
Cornelius plans to attend camps next summer at Georgia, Florida, and Auburn. He also says that he may camp at South Carolina.
