2010 Jersey DB picks up first offer

Pennington (NJ) Pennington Prep safety Dontae Johnson has known for a while that he had the talent to take his game to the next level.
The coaches at one school agree, as Johnson recently picked up his first offer of the recruiting process.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound defensive back has solid speed and great instincts. With a good camp circuit he should have more offers coming in before too long.
"I got a written offer from the University of Maryland, this past Friday on November 14," Johnson said. "I have a high interest in Maryland. I believe it's a great program that is well-supported by a great staff."
Before receiving the offer from Coach Ralph Friedgen at the Terrapins, Johnson had attracted attention from plenty of other big-name programs. He's still keeping his options open, but he does have five schools at the top of his list.
He said his five favorites are currently Maryland, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Ohio State and Georgia.
