2010 DT working hard to come back

Last year was a difficult time for Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High defensive tackle Kortlan Jackson as the young lineman suffered an injury that kept him out of action.
The 6-foot-2, 280-pound prospect suffered a major knee injury and he has spent the last month on the other side of the country trying to rehab it.

"The past month I've been in California with an uncle of mine who played in the NFL," Jackson explained. "I've just been working on getting the strength in my knee back.
"When I came out here my 40-yard dash time was down around 5.9 seconds but he's taken four-tenths of a second off it and I'm down to a 5.5. I want to get back to where I was, which was 5 seconds."
The rehab appears to be going well for Jackson, who said he will definitely be back to 100-percent in time for his junior season. Because he was out of action during his sophomore year, he has not had as much film to send out to schools as some other prospects.
His junior year will determine a lot, but in the meantime he has a few schools in mind.
"I mean, I want to aim high," Jackson said. "I'd like to look at Florida, USC, Washington and Oregon. Oregon or Oregon State would be good. And I'm from Maryland so they're up there too."
