2010 DE with first two offers

When it comes to defensive ends among the Class of 2010 from the Peach State Anthony Williams will be one of the most sought after prospects. Williams, 6-4 and 230 pounds, is from McDonough (Ga.) Union Grove. He has recently picked up his first two scholarship offers.
"Stanford was the first offer," Williams said. "I was very excited and very surprised. My parents are proud of that one. As excited as I was they were even more excited. I did watch them a few times this year because Jamal (Patterson) is headed there. So I started following them. Jamal plays from one of our main rivals (Henry County) and we are friends. I like Stanford and I have talked with one of their coaches but not coach (Jim) Harbaugh."

Georgia Tech has also offered Williams but unlike the Cardinal, they have not put it in writing.
"I am not sure when I will get the written offer from Tech. I am going to their Junior Day on the (January 31st) and I am hoping to get it then. Tech is close to home and I know some of the players there. I have been watching them for a long time now. My coach (Steve Collins) went to high school with coach (Giff) Smith. Coach Smith is a cool guy."
Although those are the only two scholarship offers at this time other big name programs are showing great interest in Williams.
"Alabama, Mississippi State, and Georgia are sending me a ton of stuff in the mail and I like them to. I also know that I want to camp at Alabama and Florida. I may try and go to Central Florida's Junior Day as well and I have been invited to Stanford. But that one may be hard to attend."
