Anthony Williams will be one of the most sought after defensive line prospects from the Peach State for the Class of 2010. Williams, 6-4 and 230 pounds, plays defensive end for McDonough (Ga.) Union Grove High School. This past season as a junior he had 80 tackles and eight sacks.
"I had a good season," Williams said. "I am quick off ball and have good speed. I also have good size and long arms. Right now I am a better pas rusher. It's not that I am poor against the run. I just need to work on fighting through double teams."
Williams still doesn't have any scholarship offers but says one team is close.
"I am pretty sure Georgia Tech is close (to offering). They said they were going to offer me soon and they are my top choice right now. My God brother played for them (Darryl Robinson). I like their style of offense and I like Paul Johnson.
"I also like Florida, Alabama, Stanford, and Florida State.
"I just love watching Florida because they are so exciting. I mean I like their offense and defense and just like that team.
"I like Nick Saban at Alabama. He came to our spring game in 2007 and he's a real nice coach. I have been to a game there and I like that environment.
"I like Stanford and watched them this season. They attack on defense and of course, they have great academics.
"I like Florida State and I like it down in Florida. They are also so good on defense. I like how they play on that side of the ball."
Williams went to games at Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, and Georgia Tech this season. He camped this past summer at Clemson.
