2009 safety one of VAs best

Defensive back William Marable is coming off a strong junior season and now the Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside prospect is working to improve his stock with college coaches. He has plenty of talent, so expect him to be one of Virginia's more highly sought-after recruits in 2009.
Marable, who at 6-feet, 195-pounds runs the 40-yard dash in 4.44 seconds, has plenty of schools on his mind and isn't ready to list a favorite. Earlier he had hinted that Virginia Tech may have had a slight edge. Is that the case now?

"I like Virginia Tech but they're about even with everybody else," Marable said. "It's basically the same schools as (he listed earlier)."
That means Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Auburn, North Carolina, Virginia and Rutgers are all in the hunt. He hasn't received any offers yet, but he's received plenty of attention.
"I've got a good relationship with Coach Price from Virginia," he said. "That was just from talking to him during the season and from when I took my unofficial visit up there. The campus is great and the program is pretty good. I really like UVa.
"I know I'm going to a Junior Day at Wake Forest as well."
As a junior Marable recorded 36 tackles, one sack and picked off two passes.
He said most schools are recruiting him as a defensive back - either corner or safety - as opposed to just safety.
