2009 RB on the verge of offers

2009 running back Deantwan Williams is putting together a big season in just six games, the 5-foot-7, 205-pounder has run for over 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns. Is the big year catching the eye of recruiters?
"My team is doing well, we're 4-3 right now and we've had a couple injuries," he said. "I've played well. I'm running smarter and I just have to keep doing what I'm doing.

"As for recruiting, I've got to register with the clearinghouse and make sure my grades are in order as well as take the SAT this weekend and then I've been told I can get some offers."
Williams isn't without his share of suitors.
"I'm hearing from Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Penn State, Alabama, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Duke, NC State, North Carolina," he said. "They are all just waiting for me to register; obviously they want to see that stuff before they do anything."
Does anyone stand out to the junior tailback from Woodbridge, Va.?
"I'd say Florida, Alabama, Auburn and Maryland are tops," he said. "I like Maryland just because it's close and I've always liked them. Auburn and Alabama are running back schools and I've wanted to play in the South. As for Florida, I just like them and want to go there."
So far this season, Williams has only taken a visit to one school.
"I went to Maryland when they played West Virginia," he said. "It's pretty nice down there. I didn't think it would be that nice. I talked to the coaches and they just told me to keep my grades up and they'll be looking to offer me if I do that."
Williams is also looking at taking some visits later this fall possibly to the Boston College-Maryland game and Florida.
Williams plans to participate in the U.S. Army combine in January.
