2009 QB hearing from plenty of schools

Quarterback Chandler Browning has the ability to beat a defense with his arm and his legs, and he's hoping that versatility earns him a few offers down the road.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound junior from Raleigh (N.C.) Broughton looks the part of a traditional drop-back pocket passer, and he can play that role. But he also runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds and isn't afraid to tuck it and run.

"They run a spread, one-back offense," said Craig Browning, Chandler's father. "He's really a pro-style quarterback but he does run a lot. He's very mobile. He's throw it around and can do a lot of different things."
Browning passed for more than 1,900 yards with 15 touchdowns last fall at Broughton and hopes to improve on those numbers this fall.
Who is he hearing from these days?
"We try to differentiate between the schools that are just sending letters and the schools that seem really interested," his father said.
"Gosh, there are a bunch," he said. "From East Carolina he's heard from Coach Roggeman and Coach Holtz. Both my daughters went there so I want him to look at them. He was going to go to a junior day there but they had a quarterback camp in Chapel Hill that he went to instead.
"Danny Pearman at Maryland got his highlight tape the week before last and personally called him. They've sent him personal letters.
"John Shoop at (North) Carolina has been by and has seen his highlight film. They said he'd be one of the top 12 quarterbacks they recruit.
"Coach Cutcliffe and Scottie Montgomery at Duke have called. Their staff saw his video and was very impressed. From NC State, Mike Archer has talked to Coach Chris Martin and he's invited him to a junior day.
"Andre Powell at Clemson has been in touch with him. There are a bunch of other schools that have been sending him mail. Auburn, Alabama and South Carolina, but they haven't made personal contact."
