2009 Maryland CB claims offers

2009 cornerback Darrell Givens has popped up with three offers so far including one of the top teams in the nation. Who does the 6-foot-1, 178-pounder out of Indian Head (Md.) Lackey hold scholarships from and does he have any favorites?
"The big one is Ohio State, I finally got the offer from them in the mail and it was dated September 1st," he said. "That was a real big one for me. It boosted my confidence a lot and showed that all my hard work is paying off.

"I was told for awhile I was going to get offered by Ohio State, but when it came in the mail I was blown away. Everybody has a dream of playing for the Buckeyes."
In addition, Givens claims offers from Pittsburgh and Akron.
He believes a few more schools could throw out offers in the near future.
"Two other schools that appear to be close to offering are Boston College and Virginia. Virginia has told me the offer is in the mail."
With a few scholarships already in his pocket, does anyone lead for the 2009 prospect?
"Basically because I've got the official offer, of course Ohio State is up there and that moves Boston College to number two," he said. "I like Boston College because they are in the ACC."
Plenty of other colleges are looking at Givens including Maryland, Michigan, Miami and Clemson to name a few.
In the meantime, the junior prospect is beginning to look at some unofficials.
"I think I may go to Pittsburgh for a game along with one to Virginia and one to Boston College."
