2009 Florida LB picks up third in-state offer

Frankie Telfort is excited. Early in his junior year, the linebacker out of Miami's Gulliver Prep has already picked up offers from UCF, Ole Miss and Florida. Now Florida State has jumped into the mix. On top of all of that, he's finally gotten his first big hit.
"My coach called me last night and told me that Florida State offered me," Telfort said. "Right now it's just another offer in the bank to put under my belt. I'm really just excited about the whole recruiting process."

Though Telfort has plenty of respect for the storied program at Florida State, there is another in-state school that he's keeping an eye on.
"I follow Florida State a little bit," he said. "But I've always been a UM fan, especially with them being my hometown team.
"I haven't heard anything from the Miami coaches but I heard that they only recruit seniors," he said. "That's definitely someone I'd like to get an offer from."
While all of Telfort's recruitment has him excited, he may be more excited about finally hitting the field after a torn ligament in his thumb has kept him out for the first four games.
"This week was my first game back," said the speedy linebacker. "I'm playing with padding over a cast, but it felt great to get back. I had a really big hit early on so that was a great way to return. The cast limits me a little bit, but I can still get my reads and get downhill."
Downhill is a good way to describe Telfort's playing style. With some big offers early on, his recruitment is starting out like a downhill ride as well.
