2008 Texas TE has options

Lancaster, Texas' junior tight end David Marshall has a lot of options.
Marshall's size, at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds and growing, is definitely good for multiple positions on the football field at the next level. In college, Marshall could find a home at defensive end, tight end, or several other spots.

Wherever he plays, the recruiting mail is picking up in a big way.
"I've been getting letters lately from Notre Dame, Texas Tech, and Iowa State," Marshall said. "Tech has been writing a lot. Notre Dame has been too, so those are new schools for me."
Marshall has been on a few unofficial visits here and there. He went with his high school teammate, Anthony Morgan, to watch Baylor and Texas A&M play a few weeks ago. He also attended a game at SMU.
The stats for Marshall have been limited this year because of the offensive gameplan, but on defense, the highlights are there.
"I've only caught two passes this year," he said. "We're really a run team. But, I've got film coming with all kinds of defensive highlights. That's where I've really been doing well."
Marshall says he doesn't have any favorite schools at this time.
