2008 Texas OL will bounce back

Tyler (Texas) Lee junior offensive tackle Trevius Jones was ready for a big junior season until an injury sidelined him for the rest of the year.
Jones, a 6-foot-5, 290-pounder tore a ligament in his ankle and had surgery on it. While his recovery is going well, he says that he's disappointed that he won't be with the team until next March. Nonetheless, coach Mike Owens and Jones know that recruiting will pick up as the spring comes into focus.

"He's a big strong kid, I mean strong as a bull," Owens said. "He's actually a better pass-blocker for us right now even though he says he needs to work on it. He's our left tackle and does well there."
Jones says that he also prides himself on his run blocking ability. Schools who like all of his skills are sending mail pretty heavily.
So far those include Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Texas Tech, and others.
"I grew up rooting for Texas," Jones said. "I'm a big Texas fan."
With his rehab in full swing, Jones says that he's just trying to look towards the future, support his team, and get back to full strength.
"I want to get stronger when I get back from this," Jones said. "As an offensive lineman, I'm always looking to get off the ball faster and just attack on every play."
