Richland, Texas linebacker Victor Jones has been a name popping up on the early radar for juniors across the state of Texas.
The versatile 6-foot-1, 219-pounder could possibly play safety or the outside linebacker position. Regardless of where he ends up, several schools are taking notice. Texas, Oklahoma State, Boston College, Iowa, and Kansas have already showed him interest.
Jones already has a leader as well.
"I've just always liked watching Oklahoma," Jones said. "Rufus Alexander is one of the best linebackers out there I think."
Plans for junior days are already in the works. Jones says he'll most likely be going to the Oklahoma State junior day in a few weeks. However, he's not going to jump on an early commitment and plans to wait until several offers have come in.
Jones started as a sophomore year and received all-district honors as a junior. He had 92 tackles and a pass breakup.
"I can play all over," Jones said. "It doesn't matter if it's inside or outside. I can cover anyone out there. I'm an all-around player. I may be a safety too.
"At linebacker, I can move inside if I have to or play in the outside."
