2008 Texas DE loads up on offers

The scholarship offers have rolled in quickly for 2008 defensive end Damian Square from Houston Yates High School.
Square, the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder, earned all-district and a spot on the All-Greater Houston team after a very productive season. His recruiting has been just as successful so far with scholarship offers in hand from Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor, Kansas State, Nebraska, and Oklahoma State already.

Plus, he's sorting through several junior day invitations.
"I know I'll probably be going to the in-state schools that have invited me to their junior days like Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech for sure," Square said. "I might make it up to check out Oklahoma Stat too. The in-state schools are definite though."
As for Square's early favorites, he listed several schools that are high on his list.
"I would say right now it would be Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and LSU," Square said about early leaders. "LSU is coming through with an offer. Their coaches are supposed to come back down here soon and give that to my coach."
Square says that he sees himself in either the SEC or Big 12 conference.
"Those are the big time schools you want to play at," Square said. "I've got a lot of the big schools on me, so I might make a decision in early spring. There may be some other offers that come my way after that, but that's where I see the process going right now."
According to Square, he says that his final statistics from his junior season included 91 tackles and 17 sacks.
