2008 Texas ATH Hall getting healthy

Beaumont (Texas) Central 2008 athlete Derrick Hall is just trying to get back to his old self.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder had quite the junior season after being a do-it-all athlete and receiver for his team. After racking up 334 receiving yards and six touchdowns on offense, Hall suffered an injury to his leg and ankle in the first round of the playoffs. Now Hall is just perusing the recruiting mail he's received and getting back to 100 percent with rehab.

"I've already started doing some light jogging," Hall said. "I actually broke my ankle and my leg. I'm going to be ready to go in about a month if all goes according to plan."
No matter what his injury was, it was unlikely it would have stopped the recruiting mail from flying in. Florida State, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, and Kansas State are the schools that Hall says he receives the most from.
Hall denies a favorite, but likes the way he's being recruited by one of those schools.
"Oklahoma State, they're showing me that they really want me to go there," Hall said. "Until something else comes a long, they've shown the most attention. I've also been to one of their camps, which was this past summer."
Hall doesn't have any plans for junior days this spring, but says he may take some unofficial trips as he gets closer to next summer. Right now, he's rehabbing and trying to get bigger all at the same time.
"I'm trying to get some size on me," Hall said. "So I've been lifting as much as I can and trying to bulk up."
