2008 standout has early offers

As long as we can remember, Fresno (Calif.) Edison has always had a Div I prospect or two in the defensive secondary and next year will be no different. In fact, the Tigers could have their entire secondary sign somewhere headlined by talented cornerback Robert Golden.
Golden, 5-11, 170 pounds is yet another high major Div I prospect from Edison and recently made the US Army combine 1st team a few weeks ago. Long time Tiger DB coach Tony Perry raves about his talented cover corner.

"Robert is just a great football player," Perry said. "He has it all, good size and speed, great technique, he tackles well, makes plays on the ball and has a great work ethic. He's just a great kid too, he really is the total package."
Golden already has a handful of scholarship offers and said one Pac 10 school has a solid lead at this time.
"Michigan, Arizona and Nevada have all offered me," Golden said. "I'm getting a ton of letters as well but those are the only ones with offers. Arizona is my leader right now, I really like them a lot. Coach Stoops is a great defensive coach and I like Coach Kish a lot as well.
"Arizona does a great job of putting defensive backs in to the league (NFL) and I really like the way Antoine Cason plays. UCLA, Cal, Michigan and Nevada would be the other schools in my top five. I'm hoping to do some unofficial visits in the spring and summer but right now, the only place I know I'm going is to UCLA's Junior Day in February.
"I don't plan on making an early commitment anywhere. I want to take a few official visits in the fall before I commit anywhere. I'm looking for a school with a nice balance of academics and football as well as a place where I can play early. I'll be looking at depth charts because my goal is come in and play as a true freshman."
