2008 OT takes ND visit

Though they had plenty of star talent in the 2007 class on campus this weekend, Notre Dame featured plenty of players from 2008 too. One of those stars is Elkhorn, Neb. offensive tackle Trevor Robinson. The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder enjoyed his first trip to South Bend for a game.
"The visit went pretty well even though the game didn't turn out that well," he said. "It was nice to talk to the coaches and meet the other recruits. I got there and had lunch with recruits and then walked from the church over to the stadium. Then coach Weis talked to us right before the game. He just kind of talked about what they are looking for in a player as far as grades and being a good person. It was kind of nice to talk about that aspect."

Even with the loss, Robinson enjoyed taking in the Irish game.
"I liked the stadium and atmosphere there. The student section really gets into it," he said. "I had been on campus before, but this was my first time for a game and it was a good time.
"I watched the line play a lot out there and I think Brady Quinn lost confidence in them as the game went on. He started to get out of the pocket before he needed to even though the line was holding their blocks pretty well."
The 2008 prospect is looking at heading back to the Big 12 next week.
"I'm thinking about going to the Louisville-Kansas State game," he said. "I don't know if I'll be able to miss another practice, but we'll see.
"Right now I'm just taking in all the school. The big thing for me is academics. I want somewhere that can take me places after I'm done playing football, but I also want to win a championship."
On the recruiting trail, Robinson holds offers from Nebraska and Notre Dame. He added one in the last few days from the ACC.
"I got a letter from Boston College in the mail and they have an offer on the way," he said. "I haven't seen or met the coaches before and the offer kind of came as a surprise. I do like the academic side there and it's very exciting since I've never been to Boston. I don't know if I'll be able to get there this year, but I definitely would like to go in the future."
