By this time next year, Johnson may be the most coveted running back in the state of Texas.
Johnson, 5-11, 240-pounds, rushed for 1,551 yards and 20 touchdowns. His exploits earned him unanimous first-team, all-district honors and some heavy expectations for 2007.
"I have big expectations next year," he said. "I want to win district and enjoy the recruiting process. I want to be a leader on this team and I think I have the respect of my teammates."
Less than an hour from Waller, it's no wonder that Texas A&M is one of Johnson's early favorites. He plans on attending several summer one-day camps this summer
"I really like Texas, Texas A&M and Wisconsin right now," he said. "But it is really early in the process. I'd like to stay in Texas but if I have a better opportunity someplace else, I'll go out of state."
Johnson also has a brother who plays offensive line for Texas Lutheran University.
