2007 Texas DE adds another offer

It's not a surprise that star junior defensive end/outside linebacker prospect Richetti Jones continues to gather new offers, but lately one team has been doing a good enough job of recruiting to take a very early leader spot.
A member of the Class of 2007 100 to watch, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound Jones picked up early offers from Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. Then another one came and his count just went to three.

"I've got one from Baylor now," Jones said. "I'm pretty excited. One of my friends goes down there, so that was another big offer for me."
If the offers weren't enough, Jones made the all-state team for his junior-year performance at defensive end. Aside from that, things have been low key since the season came to a close.
One college though has really caught his attention.
"Right now, Texas A&M is my No. 1 team," Jones said. "They have the best recruiting techniques I've seen so far. They write me letters everyday, there are pictures of me on a cereal box, a picture of a jersey with my name on it, and all sorts of stuff. It's crazy."
"There is a lot of time though, but if the decision had to be made today, they would be it."
The competition will only get thicker from here. Florida, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas, and Southern Cal are all in hot pursuit of the Dallas star.
"I don't have a clue who else will offer me," he said. "But, I'm loving all this and how everybody knows who I am."
