2007 stud LB grabs first two offers

Rivals100 2007 linebacker Devonte Campbell out of Forestville, Md. just picked up his first two offers of the season this week from the Big Ten and ACC. Who offered the 6-foot-2, 216-pounder and what does he like about both schools?
"I got offers from Illinois and Virginia on Wednesday," he said. "Both of them are good offers especially for them being my first two. I like Illinois because they've been recruiting me for a while and seem to have watched a lot of tape on me and are very interested. Virginia is also really interested and they are known for having a good athletic program and great academics."

Other schools Campbell has been hearing from recently include Maryland and Penn State.
This spring Campbell expects to head to a junior day at Maryland and a handful of 7-on-7 tournaments.
This season the linebacker prospect recorded 21 receptions for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns. He added 55 tackles and five sacks on defense.
Currently, Campbell is playing basketball for Forestville.
"I lead the team averaging 14 points a game, seven rebounds and four assists," he said. "Basketball is going pretty good and it does keep me in shape for football, but I just do it for fun. It originally was my first sport, but now it's just a recreational thing."
