2007 QB Taylor plays well in scrimmage

2007 Quarterback Tyrod Taylor from Hampton, Va. went up against two of 2006's top athletes in Percy Harvin and Damon McDaniel in a scrimmage last Thursday.
The 6-foot-0, 185-pounder looked very impressive in the Crabbers first scrimmage of the season. Taylor hooked up with his receivers for a couple touchdowns, threw a couple more impressive passes to receivers that were dropped and even scrambled well against the speedy defenders.

"We played well as a team and I think I could have done some more things out there, but we did make a couple mistakes too," he said. "Landstown threw a lot of blitzes at me and I've got to work on picking them up more and reading them quicker."
A 2007 Rivals 100 watch list member, Taylor showed impressive touch on the ball in the scrimmage. He looked even better than last season.
"This summer I worked on my technique and how to place the ball on certain routes," he said. "I've seen a big improvement and I know I see the field a lot better this year too."
Taylor still holds two offers so far in his recruitment from Virginia Tech and North Carolina.
Last season the quarterback prospect ran for 800 yards and six touchdowns, he added 2,000 yards passing, 22 touchdowns and just six interceptions threw the air.
