2007 QB Daley has early favorites

2007 quarterback Andrew Daley out of Vorhees (N.J.) Eastern has not received an offer to date. The 6-foot-2, 212-pounder has however received interest from a variety of schools. Who is interested in the New Jersey gunslinger?
"I get a ton of mail every day from schools including Rutgers, Iowa, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Michigan and Virginia," he said. "Right now I'd say I'm looking at Rutgers, Penn State, Virginia, South Florida and Boston College. I like Rutgers because I've been up there a lot over the past year and every time I go I'm impressed with the facilities and coaches. They are so friendly and go out of their way to treat me well and talk to me. The only other school I've visited was Boston College and they are nice too with their facilities, stadium and atmosphere.

"Penn State and Virginia are both top schools and the tradition at Penn State is unbelievable. Meanwhile, South Florida seems like somewhere nice to go. I also like that it's in the Big East so it's still relatively close to home."
Daley attended the Villanova-Rutgers game earlier this year.
"Before the game, I went under the tent with the players and coaches," he said. "In the game they dominated from the outset and impressed me. I've been invited to a few other games including Virginia and North Carolina State. I just don't know if I'll be able to attend since I play games on Friday nights and Saturdays."
This season the quarterback prospect has struggled as Eastern is off to a 1-2 start.
"We're getting better each week as the problem really has been too many turnovers," he said. "Our offense can't seem to get in rhythm as I've thrown five interceptions and only three touchdowns. I've also passed for 400 yards. This year I am running more though and have over 150 yards and three touchdowns. Personally, I'm not playing where I want to be and I think I just have to go through my reads more because so far I've been forcing the ball at times."
