2007 OL hoping for more interest

Malden (Mass.) Malden Catholic 2007 offensive tackle Justin Sawicki has received interest from one school in recruiting so far, but he is open to a lot more. The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder went on to talk about the schools he's interested in.
"Boston College sends me stuff and that's about the only school to show interest so far," he said. "I'd like to go there, but I'd also like to have more options in the South and Midwest. I like that Boston College has a strong offensive linemen program and they told me they have 15 linemen in the NFL, so if I go there it could give me a shot to play at the next level. The academics are good there too, especially psychology which is what I want to major in.

"I met coach Don Horton last summer for camp and he was a good guy. He seemed really interested in me and even had me come after to work on some stuff."
Sawicki took in the Ball State-Boston College game earlier this season.
"They killed them and I felt I could play with their offensive linemen," he said. "I was impressed with their program and they are doing a really good job this year. It would be a good school to join."
This weekend the linemen prospect plans to take in the Wake Forest-Boston College game.
With plenty of time before a decision, Sawicki is open to other schools.
"I would love to see some interest from Florida State, Georgia, Syracuse and even Villanova," he said. "I'm looking for a good education that comes first in case football doesn't work out. My other goal is to make it to the NFL so I want to play Division I football and I've got the grades to make it into a good school with my 3.5GPA. It doesn't matter what kind of school it is, I just want somewhere that has a good winning tradition and fans come out to support the team because at my high school no one comes to the games."
The offensive tackle prospect has been playing varsity since his freshman year.
"I'd say my strength is my pass blocking. I'm very good at that and I haven't allowed a sack on the right side this year. I'd say I'm also a leader on the field. The rest of the line is seniors and I motivate them and get them going," he said. "As for what I still need to work on, I'd say it's my run blocking. I need to stay on my blocks longer and hold them. I make the initial contact, but I need to get a better push."
