2007 Mabin enjoys ND junior day

2007 cornerback Jordan Mabin out of Nordonia (Ohio) Macedonia headed up to Notre Dame this weekend for a junior day. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder was impressed by the visit according to his father Howard Mabin.
"He liked the visit and had a really good time seeing the coaches," he said. "It was a good chance for him to talk to them. We also checked out the facilities, but it's real early in the process.

"I can say this was definitely a big visit for Jordan because Notre Dame is a big-time school and he liked coach Weis a lot because he's very personable and kind of a funny guy. He also liked how coach Weis kept it real down to earth and he affirmed that he'll be there for a while."
Mabin is planning to head to two more junior days in the coming weeks including Michigan on January 28th and Ohio State in February.
As for combines, the cornerback prospect plans to attend the Rivals junior day at Akron in February. He's also planning to be at the Ohio State Nike combine.
Mabin belives his son is pretty wide open in the early going.
"It's very early in the process and he's looking at anybody that looks at him right now. He likes all the conferences," he said. "I know what is important to him is getting a good education and he wants to get on the field early. He could be a running back or cornerback and I don't think it matters which position he plays, whatever gets him on the field quicker."
Mabin accounted for over 1,600 yards of offense and 21 touchdowns. He added 19 tackles and two interceptions on defense as he was named first team all-Western Reserve conference as a junior.
