2007 LB is worth the hype

The Rivals.com 2007 100 to watch list featured Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey linebacker Robert Mullins. After seeing Mullins in action last Friday when the Dons took on a talented Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds team, there is no doubt his selection was warranted.
Dorsey is loaded on both sides of the ball and should be considered the favorite at this time for the L.A city championship. You won't find very many teams in the state that can boast a better linebacker combination than senior standout Mark Johnson and Mullins.

Mullins looks to be about 6-2, 205 pounds and he can fly around the field. While Johnson is a national recruit with offers from schools all over the country, expect Mullins to get the same kind of interest a year from now. The 'backer has very good football instincts, is a sure tackler and plus speed. He showed excellent quickness coming off the edge and can change direction very well.
Mullins also has that 'pop' when he hits you and doesn't need to wrestle the ball carrier to the ground. Once he enters the picture, the play is over. We didn't have a chance to catch up with Mullins after the game to talk about early favorites but it's safe to say, the athlete should be able to write his own ticket a year from now assuming he keeps his grades in order.
