2007 Houston WR has the potential

HOUSTON - The next big thing at Jersey Village is a 6-foot-3, 170-pound wide receiver named Desmon Marrs who looks likely to be a very impressive high school player even being only a junior today.
Coach David Snokhous has sure had some good players with the likes of 2006 prospects Patrick Lavine (Oklahoma State commit) and Texas commit, offensive guard Steve Moore. Marrs has the potential to be just as good if not better than the current senior stars.

"He's could be one of the top guys, but he's got to go a ways just like everybody else," Snokhous said. "That's on paper and he has to live up to it. He has the ability and I hope he is, because then he's playing his butt off for us. Hopefully he'll take all that talent and be very good because he's working hard."
Marrs already has the height to be a good receiver at 6-foot-3 and considering the new breed of wide receivers at the Division I level is tall, that is just one positive that the young junior has working for him.
Snokhous just wants to make sure that Marrs goes through the most important stage of development between now and his senior year.
"The potential is easy to see because you can always tell that about a young man," Snokhous said about Marrs. "Will they live up to those expectations? That's another deal all together. Sometimes it's just a maturity deal. What they do between junior and senior year, in most cases, is huge."
"They might be an average player and end up being a great player. From a football standpoint, that's the biggest growth time."
Marrs is already receiving attention from in-state programs such as Texas Tech at the current time.
