16 OT Johnson on the rise

Class of 2016 offensive lineman Jordan Johnson of Jacksonville (Fla.) Ed White has really seen his recruitment take off this season and currently holds 11 offers, including Ohio State, Ole Miss and South Carolina.
The 6-foot-3, 260-pound three-star said he doesn't have a favorite as of yet and his recruitment is not his top priority at the moment.

"I'm focusing on school right now," Johnson said. "I'm not pushing it. Schools are showing interest but I'm young and I have time so it's not as important right now."
Johnson has been on two visits - both to Rutgers. Johnson's older brother, Kaleb Johnson, plays for the Scarlett Knights and has been a full-time starter the past two seasons, this being his senior season.
The Rutgers offered younger brother in September when he visited for the Penn State game. Johnson was also on hand for the Michigan game in October.
"It's the only school I've been to so it's pretty much the only school I know," he said. "I like the atmosphere there."
Johnson said the schools talking to him the most are South Carolina and Mississippi State, though the Bulldogs haven't yet offered. Johnson communicates regularly with Gamecocks assistant Steve Spurrier Jr..
"I've talked to him and seen him in person," Johnson said of Spurrier Jr. He's a nice guy. He seems pretty cool."
Pittsburgh is another school showing interest and is in a unique situation with Panthers assistant Troy Douglas a childhood friend of Johnson's mother. The Panthers are also Johnson's only offering school that sees him playing on the defensive side of the ball.
"(Douglas) said he sees me as more of a defensive lineman," Johnson said. "I don't have any experience there, so we'll see."
Johnson said he's also receiving interest from LSU. He said he'd like to hear from UCF because of its proximity to home and also likes Georgia.
But with another season of football to play, he plans on waiting for his recruiting picture to fully develop.
"I'll start narrowing down my schools this summer," he said. "And I plan on committing on Signing Day."
