12 offers and counting for McMillan

Inside linebacker Raekwon McMillan of Hinesville (Ga.) Liberty County already was a very good player a year ago, but the 2014 standout thinks he is greatly improved today, particularly in one area: his speed.
"I'm a lot quicker," McMillan told Rivals.com. "I ran a 4.65 in the 40 [Thursday]. Last year, I was at 4.79."

To date, the 6-feet-2, 236-pound McMillan holds 12 offers. The latest came earlier this week from Florida, Florida State and Georgia State. There's a good chance many more are on the way.
"I think Alabama and LSU are close to offering," McMillan said. "They've asked for a bunch of game film, and [Alabama defensive coordinator] Kirby Smart is supposed to come by my school. That's what I was told."
On Thursday, Florida and South Carolina stopped by Liberty County. Florida State was on campus Wednesday. The day before that, it was Georgia.
According to McMillan, Georgia, Ohio State and South Carolina have recruited him the hardest up to now. Asked if he had any leaders, McMillan replied, "Not really. I'm going to keep it open."
Thus far, he has visited only the Bulldogs, Buckeyes and Gamecocks.
"I really like Ohio State and Georgia's campuses a lot," McMillan said. "Ohio State's campus is huge. And they have a wide variety of classes that you can take. The stadium also is huge. I like a big campus like that. And Georgia - that's home to me, man. All my family loves Georgia. It's just like home. I've been there twice."
More trips are planned for the summer.
"I'm going down to Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State again and Georgia again," McMillan said. "I'm looking forward to seeing the campuses I haven't seen yet, and going back to Ohio State. In the future, that's going to matter which campuses I like the most."
In 2011, McMillan recorded 97 tackles --24 for loss.
