RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The King of the IE 7on7 tournament was held Saturday here at J.W. North High School and a bunch of top prospects from Southern California were in attendance. Here is the latest recruiting news from some of the best players:

DANIELS HIGH ON IRISH

JT Daniels is a 2019 quarterback but has already received a bunch of offers and although it’s still early there’s no doubt Notre Dame is one of his standouts.

“Notre Dame is a huge favorite of mine,” Daniels said. “I love Notre Dame. Notre Dame is definitely one of my top schools. I’ve been a Notre Dame fan and Joe Montana and how many other quarterbacks have gone through there. It’s such a prestigious school.”

The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei prospect was also recently offered by UCLA and the job the Bruins are doing with QB Josh Rosen has been noticed as well. Arizona State, Cal and Washington have also offered the 2019 recruit.

Deommodore Lenoir

LSU BIG FOR LENOIR

LSU is a major offer for four-star defensive back Deommodore Lenoir because he has always followed that program and he called it a “dream school” since he was a little kid.

Nebraska and Louisville are also two big recent offers for the Los Angeles Salesian standout. He likes the Cardinals because of a terrific relationship with assistant coach Keith Heyward, who came to Louisville from USC, and the Huskers because he likes assistant coach Mark Banker a ton.

Lenoir has changed up his list of favorites from time to time and he said there are “a lot of teams” up there at this point. New interest is coming in from Oregon, Vanderbilt, TCU and Notre Dame.

ST. BROWN TALKS NEW OFFERS

The Stanford offer is “huge” according to four-star receiver Osiris St. Brown, who considers the Cardinal one of his favorites along with Notre Dame and UCLA at this point. USC also seems pretty close to the top of his list as well.

The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei recruit said Stanford will definitely stay among his top schools and that he could have a commitment done toward the end of the year.

Oregon and Ohio State are two offers St. Brown is hoping for and he wants to hear from more SEC schools as his recruitment continues.

TAYLOR SOUNDS DONE

Good news for Washington fans: Class of 2017 four-star defensive back Keith Taylor sounds like his recruitment is over.

The Anaheim (Calif.) Servite standout said that he loves the Huskies, loves the coaching staff, loves the city of Seattle and really isn’t considering any other programs at this point.

Taylor said he is so set on Washington that really nothing could change his mind about his early pledge. Cal, Utah and Arizona State are still pursuing Taylor but it sounds like he’s all wrapped up.

REDD HEARING MORE

Immediately following National Signing Day, four-star Jaylon Redd said he was hearing from a lot of coaches so he thinks his recruitment could pick up even more soon.

The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., two-way standout said Notre Dame, Cal and Tennessee have been in the most communication with him and he’s planning to attend the upcoming Cal junior day.

As for favorites, it’s too early and Redd said he should have some standouts by the summer.

JOHNSON STAYING BUSY

Three-star linebacker Rahyme Johnson is staying happily committed to UCLA but he remains open to listening to other programs and many high-profile teams are coming after him.

The Los Angeles Salesian prospect said Arizona State, Cal, Alabama, Oklahoma and Indiana have reached out recently and many could offer soon.

Johnson said Cal and Arizona State could be the two next schools to offer since those coaches have been aggressively recruiting him and Alabama hopes Johnson could visit by next season.

Washington has already offered and continues to talk with the three-star recruit.

HAWKINS GIVES UPDATE

Arizona State and Cal are the two newest offers for three-star Jeremiah Hawkins and he said he wants to take visits before figuring out which programs look best in his recruitment.

As for trips, Hawkins is going to the Nebraska spring game and he’s headed to Cal for the junior day. There is a connection in Berkeley since freshman corner Jaylinn Hawkins is his cousin.

“He tells me a lot of stories about how he just loves it there so I feel like it’s going to be like family and I’m going to love it,” Hawkins said.

Arizona, Oregon, Ohio State and Texas A&M are showing new interest.

UTAH LEADS FOR PICKETT

Nebraska and Washington State are the two newest offers for three-star Nick Pickett but he said his first offer from Utah still stands out a little more.

Indiana, Michigan State, UCLA and Northwestern are showing new interest in the Los Angeles Salesian prospect.

The Utes came in first and keep recruiting him the hardest plus he has a good relationship with the coaches so they’re a frontrunner at this point. Washington State is also toward the top.

Jamire Calvin

NEW OFFER FOR CALVIN?

Oregon could be close to offering Los Angeles Cathedral speedster Jamire Calvin and if the Ducks come through it would be a major offer.

“I’ve been talking to the offensive coordinator and he said they really like me and they just need to talk to the head coach, go over my transcripts and an offer could come soon,” Calvin said.

UCLA is showing a lot of new interest along with USC and Northwestern. Cal continues to recruit Calvin really hard and the Golden Bears have already offered. He said Cal is trying to get an early pledge but he wants to sit back awhile longer and see where his recruitment goes.
