Anderson follows heart; commits to Georgia

It came down to Alabama and Georgia for Rivals 100 defensive end Adam Anderson.

He went back and forth with his decision over the last couple of months, but over time, the 6-foot-6, 225 pound four-star out of Rome (Ga.) figured out that Georgia was where he wanted to be.

"It was tough, but I just had to go with my heart and commit to Georgia," said Anderson. "Both schools are great, I visited both schools, and I went back and forth, but my heart was telling to go to Georgia, so I did."

Kirby Smart and his staff made Anderson a priority and it showed. They put a lot of effort into his recruitment and in the end, it paid off.

"After a while, I just saw I had the best connection with the people at Georgia. I got to know the coaches, I met some players there and we had really good communication.

"Georgia always made me feel important to them, so that was a great feeling. I know I am able to talk with them, I know the coaches well and the connection really helped me pick Georgia."

Anderson has not only gotten to know current players at Georgia, but many of the future ones as well. He has a lot of respect for Justin Fields, the five-star quarterback out of Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison that committed to the Bulldogs almost two weeks ago.

Those two have talked and Anderson actually thought he might commit to Georgia before Fields. Playing together excited Anderson and when he thinks about the future between the hedges, he could not be happier.

"I like the way they are playing and I know I will get great coaching there, so it feels great to be committed to Georgia," said Anderson. "They have a lot of great players and the recruits they are getting are great too.

"I am really feeling Georgia. I am excited about staying home and playing for Georgia. It is a blessing for me. A lot of people have helped me and now I can stay home and play for them."

This is Anderson's third commitment and it appears it is likely to be his last. Georgia got him committed in August 2016, then he flipped to LSU in the spring of 2017.

He is now back with the red and black.

"I feel like this it for me. I think I am done this time."
